An oldie...but goodie - Our Wedding!

The Wedding of James and Calista Mejia
Wednesday, August 22, 2007
La Jolla, CA.

love this guy!

pure passion

I got ready (& we later stayed at) the Scripps Inn - which was literally across the street from our reception location!

finishing touches...with the best hair stylist ever - Niki

Our Reception was held at Cuvier Park, in La Jolla, CA. overlooking the shimmering Pacific Ocean. We had 7 bridesmaids & 7 groomsmen in our wedding party - and they looked great!

From left to right:
Noelle, Lindsey, Alex, Adriana, Chelsea S., KayLee, Chelsea W., Calista, James, Steve, Lucas, Chris, Frankie, Dave, Wes, Marcus

Our reception was held at the La Jolla Woman's Club where we had about 130 guests in attendance. Making our Grand Entrance into the venue, and seeing everyone's smiling faces, enjoying the day & feeling the love all around was such a great moment.

Walking in...with our awesome coordinator, Lynn, standing by

James whisked me off my feet during our first dance, which was to Sade's "By Your Side" - this has been "our" song for years now...so we knew almost before anything else, that this was THE song!

We had 3 different flavored cheesecakes from the delicious Cheesecake Factory in San Diego.
We had original, chocolate mousse, and my FAV...Banana Creme...YUM! The tables were covered in a variety of seashells, starfish, romantic candles, and fresh light green orchids.

The bouquet toss was eventful...to say the least! Apparently my throw was a little short, so a few of the girls had to 'dive' forward to have a good shot at catching it. Poor Susan (one of the groomsman's mother) actually broke her ankle upon impact of the hardwood floor....but luckily walked away a champ...with the bouquet in her grip!

The garter toss was equally as entertaining, though fortunately no one was injured this time around. James was apparently so anxious to throw the garter, he didn't even give the guys a chance to catch it......because it landed up high above in the chandelier!!

Needless to say, it was more beautiful, perfect & meaningful that I could have ever hoped or dreamed for...Happily Ever After!
