Ric-Rac Flower Necklace

I am loving the new necklace I just made...also loving the fact that it only took me 15 minutes to create from start to finish! Man I'm a sucker for a quick & easy craft {AND inexpensive}.

I was "PINspired"...obviously...by this wonderful "Ric Rac Rose" pin (tutorial on "The Ribbon Retreat" blog):

How could I not resist!?!

Except as I was finishing, I thought it appeared to resemble a Dahlia, rather than a Rose (though 'ric rac rose' does sound cuter!). So that's why I renamed mine....either way, so fun!

I also didn't see it ending up as a ring - it was feeling more 'necklacey' to me...so on it went, to the bottom of a pretty silver chain, covered up with some tan colored felt...and it is PERfect!

The full pack of Ric-Rac was $1.20 (and I only used 42"...so I still have maybe 60" left!) And the necklace was maybe $3 I think...I always keep a few on hand just in case ;-)

Think I will wear it with this black/white striped, yellow-block dress for one of our many Easter activities this weekend!
love these colors together!
