Celebrating Baby R!

This past Saturday I was honored to be included in the planning & execution of a beautiful baby shower for my great friend Niki. She’s 34 weeks pregnant now with a baby boy (which is exactly how old Kapri is!!), so she’s due around February 24th, 2010…and we can’t wait to meet him!!

I helped plan the shower with 2 other wonderfully crafty people, Michelle & Kristy…and it was held at Niki's in-laws. We had a great time & were all extremely relieved to have pulled it all off successfully. No detail was spared and the time put into it definitely do not go unnoticed by all.

Niki scored big time with tons of gifts, keepsakes, baby clothes…and best of all (in my opinion of course)…this gorgeous 3-tiered diaper cake…constructed by yours truly (with the awesome helping hand of my sister in law, Amanda as well)….

It was so perfect, I kinda wanted to keep it all for myself, hehehe… “NIKI…you WILL use all of those diapers, and then some!” haha

My sister Chelsea also helped construct a framed shower ‘keepsake’ to match the colors/theme of Baby R’s nursery, which included bunches of leaves & bananas that each guest signed…as a background to a cute little monkey holding a beautiful poem that read:

When those tiny fingers curl

So sweetly around your own,

You’ll feel some of the deepest joy

That you've ever known


Because it doesn’t take so long

To understand how much

Your whole life can be transformed

By a gentle baby’s touch

All in all – it was a great day…exhausting, but sooo worth it for our dear friend Niki! xoxo
